SEASON REPORT

We’ve commenced pre-cutting of seed and are almost three-quarters of the way through our scheduled program. Wayne feels like he’s been working 24/7, and he and Kurt have done an excellent job of managing the storage requirements and allocations of everyone’s seed.
We currently have 13,500 tonnes of seed in storage and aim to have around 10,000 tonnes pre-cut by the start of Spring.
Our newest modification to carrot bulk unloader and washing equipment has been a huge success and has allowed us to increase our unloading capacity by an extra couple of thousand tonnes of carrots – unloaded and moved into cool storage. We’re really pleased with this, and Simplot is very happy too, as it has allowed them to work to earlier timeframes with better conditions for harvest.
With our recent expansion and the addition of seven new cool rooms at Cherry Hill Coolstores, we’ve greatly increased our cool storage capacity for seed potatoes, canes and carrots.
We’re thrilled that all seven cool rooms are now in operation.

MAINTENANCE REPORT
Everything is going steadily this year, and we’re hitting all our goals and targets.
WE HAVE MOVED
We’ve recently moved from Cherry Hill Coolstores. Our new workshop is now located at 209 Stony Rise Road, Devonport.
This move will enable us to expand our capacity for 2027, while already allowing us to offer extra services which include Franna crane hire, sandblasting and painting.

MORE MEETINGS
With the growth of our team in 2026, we have implemented some great new systems. This includes regular departmental team meetings, with representatives then meeting with management.
This means a lot of meetings, but importantly, it also means good communication across the board.
FIRST AID UPDATE
All staff recently attended a first aid refresher course to keep our workplace as safe as possible – both for us and for you when you visit us. We have a defibrillator on site, which is well maintained.
In our reception area, you may have noticed our digital check-in and check-out system. This allows us to know precisely who is on site (and with whom) at any given time. If you’d like a demo of our check-in terminal, please ask Lynette when you next pop in.

AWS SUMMIT – SYDNEY
With the advent of AI and our focus on staying at the forefront of new technology, Iris attended an AWS Summit in Sydney in May. The summit presented an opportunity to get hands-on with the latest in cloud and AI innovation, and was an incredible opportunity to collaborate and engage with industry leaders.
Keynote speakers included Dr Werner Vogels (Vice President and CTO of Amazon.com), Rianne van Veldhuizen (Vice President and Managing Director of AWS Australia and New Zealand), and many more.
The summit was intense, with more than 170 sessions to choose from, as well as a village where attendees could experience technology in action, explore new industries, undertake training, and more.
STAFF PROFILE: ROBERT “BOB” OLDENHOF |
Bob is a local lad who grew up on the North-West Coast in Ulverstone. He has worked all over Australia in mining and is now living back in Tasmania to support his family. After working for many years for Spreyton Fresh as their Juice Manager, he commenced employment with Cherry Hill in 2025.
A normal day for Bob involves working out in the field with Wayne, moving bins to match allocations and loading in the cutting shed for the next cut.
In his spare time, he loves trout fishing at Great Lake and Lake McIntosh. He’s a North Melbourne footy supporter and loves to make home-brew from the grain.
Bob really enjoys his job and the people he works with, saying the folk at Cherry Hill are “a good bunch of people to work with”.

CHERRY HILL COOLSTORES SEED GUARANTEE
Our Seed Management Services. Cherry Hill Coolstores will guarantee our services on Seed Growers seed. If you buy someone else’s certified seed, which is presented to Cherry Hill in good condition, and it breaks down, we will replace our cutting and services at no charge.
This guarantee specifically refers to seed piece breakdown (i.e. rot), and refers to seed which is delivered directly to Cherry Hill Coolstores from the seed paddock for chemical application, coolstoring and cutting. In order for this guarantee to be valid, the Buyer must make claims within 24-hours of the seed leaving Cherry Hill Coolstores and 
before planting.
