At present, all seed cutting facilities rely upon ambient air conditions to suberize their cut seed. Ninety percent of the time this is fine, but if your cut seed is in the other ten percent it can be detrimental.

To combat this, Cherry Hill Coolstores has installed a climate controlled room with the ability to heat or cool, control humidity and CO2, and rapidly change stale air. This initiative has given Cherry Hill even more security when suberizing cut seed.

We have also installed automated CO2 monitoring and air purging in existing Coolstores. This is another first for Cherry Hill in the seed potato sector in Tasmania. This new facility was open operation for the 2012 season.
Now that we have added this security to the rest of our systems for seed management, it gives us the ability to guarantee our products for our customers.
